True Love

Moses Mendelsson, the grandfather of the famous German composer, was a man far from being handsome. On the contrary, besides the fact that he was of short, he had a grotesque hunchback.
One day he was visited by a merchant from Hamburg who had a very pretty girl, whose name was Frumtje.
Moses fall in love with her in a desperate way, but the girl was looking to him with reluctance.

When he visited the home of the merchant, before he leaves, Moses took the courage and went upstairs in the room where the girl was sitting to tell her a few last words. She was heavenly beauty and he is struggling in the throes of hell when the girl refused to even look at him. After several attempts to relate a conversation, Moses shyly asked:

- Do you know why marriages are made in Heaven?
- Yes, the girl said, while she was still looking into the ground. But, you know why?
- Yes, I know, he said. You see, in heaven at the birth of each boy, the Lord announces which girl will be his wife. When I was born, it was shown to me my future bride.

  God said to me:
- Your bride will have a
hunchback!
Then I said to God:
- God, a hunched woman would be a tragedy. God, give me the hump and let her be beautiful.
Fascinated by his words, Frumtje looked up from the floor, and she accepted him in marriage, being a faithful wife to him.

The meaning of LIFE

A teacher finishes his class and then he say the usual words:
- Questions?
One student said:
- Sir, what is the meaning of life?
One of the students, which was about to leave, began to laugh. Professor looked extensively to the student searching if the question was a serious one. He understood that it is.
- I will respond.
He took out from his pocket a wallet and from that wallet a piece from a mirror, not bigger than a coin. Then he said:
- I was a child during the war. One day I found a mirror shattered on the street. I kept the largest shard. This it is. I started playing with it and I was excited to see how I could with the help of light reflection to clear up the darkest corners, where the sun never gets: deep holes, cracks, hiding places. I kept the little piece.
Becoming a man, I understood that it was not a simple child's play, but a foreshadowing of what I have done in my life.

I myself, I am a glimpse from a mirror that I have not seen it one piece. By through what I have, however, I can bring light, truth, understanding, knowledge, kindness, gentleness in people's most hidden place from their hearts and change something in some of them. Perhaps others will do the same if  they see me doing this. I think that this lies the meaning of life.

Do you know about what I will speak today?

Once upon a time, there was an Eastern Prophet who, once a year, meet with his followers who were willing to hear him speaking.

On the first day the Prophet asked them: "Do you know about what I will speak today?" The disciples answered in chorus: "No!".
"Then - the prophet said - if you do not know, is useless for me to stay here to waste my time. See you in another time."

Disciples felt very offended and decided that to the next meeting to respond all of them with " Yes! "

The next day, the Prophet asked again: "Do you know about what I will speak today?
They all responded, "Yes!". Then the wise Prophet answered: "If you know, it's useless to speak."
And he left this time too.
Disciples, even more offended than first time, had a brilliant idea: "At the next meeting, half of us will answer yes and the other half no. In this way the Prophet will not have a way out. "

The third day he asked again: "Do you know about what I will speak today?" Half of the disciples responded yes, and half no.
Then the Prophet exclaimed: "Good! I am very pleased with your answer and please everyone of you who answered yes to tell others what I wanted to say."

The Prophet left this time and the disciples never saw him again.

What thought raised in your mind the Prophet's history? Think carefully! Meditate on the story of the Prophet!

Every smile we meet on our way makes growing inside us the love for life and for others.

It makes us to forget the past, makes the future worth to be lived and gives us the chance to born again.

You Say Goodbye And I Say Hello

What we see depends mainly on what we look for - JOHN LUBBOCK

In his book The Art of Happiness, the Dalai Lama notes a Greek fable on perspective.

Once there was a disciple of a Greek Philosopher who was commanded by his master for three years to give money to everyone who insulted him. When this period of trial was over the master said to him, “Now you can go to Athens and learn wisdom.”

When the disciple was entering Athens, he met a certain wise man who sat at the gate insulting everybody who came and went. He also insulted the disciple, who burst out laughing.
“Why do you laugh when I insult you,” said the wise man.
“Because,” said the disciple, “for three years I have been paying for this kind of thing and now you give it to me for nothing.”
“Enter the city,” said the wise man, “it is all yours.”

If we want to own the city, we have to learn how to change our outlook at will. The ability to change our perspective, viewing our problems from different angles, requires that we keep an open, compliant mind. It also takes practice.
The Dali Lama said, “Generally speaking, once you’re in a difficult situation, it isn’t possible to change your attitude simply by adopting a particular thought once or twice. Rather it’s a process of learning, training, and getting used to new viewpoints that enables you to deal with the difficulty.”

If you are in a trading slump it pays to look at the situation from different angles. You have to train yourself to focus on the positive aspects through knowledge and practice. For example, by being educated about the previous magnitudes and durations of your draw downs you could conclude “Hey, I should be looking forward to a prosperous period soon,” instead of, “Boy I can’t do anything right.”

In a trading world that is characterized by unexpected events, we will see volatility and sloppy periods of trading. So, let’s expect that. Let’s swallow that fact and not be surprised when it happens. We know no one trades without draw down periods, so let’s educate ourselves to what these periods have looked like in the past. By adopting the process of changing perspective we will be in better shape to maintain our composure in the stormy times, and stay focused on the long term.

When night is over and the day starts

A wise old man and asked his disciples.

-How do you know when the night is over and starts the day?
-I'll tell you! rushed a disciple. When you can distinguish from far away the sheep from a dog!
-No! replied the old man.

"Could be the beginning of the day", said another, when seeing from far a tree, you can tell if it is a peach or a fig.
-No! insisted the wise old man.
-Then how can we know? cried the disciples.
-When looking to a man and you see in him a brother! Otherwise, any time of day would be, it will still be night!
